Bay Custard

1-1/2 cups milk
4 beaten egg yolks
1 cup light cream
1/4 cup honey
4 large fresh bay leaves
dash salt
     
In a medium saucepan combine milk, cream and bay leaves.  Heat till scalded.  Cool about 10 minutes.  Remove bay leaves.  Stir about 1 cup of the hot mixture into the yolks; stir in honey and salt.  Return all to saucepan.  Turn into 9” quiche dish.  Place in a 13x9x2” baking pan; fill pan with hot water to a depth of 1”.  Bake in a 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes or till just set.  Remove dish from water.  Cool, then chill.  Makes 6 servings.
